Genesis

Location: Arts Printing House, Black Hall (Šiltadaržio Str. 6)

Jauna Muzika Festival, to gether with the Druskininkai Residence for Artists, presents the international programme of electroacoustic and performative music for Ukrainian, Swedish, and Austrian composers and sound artists. The residents will spend one month in the resort town of Druskininkai before revealing their new compositions April 25 at the Arts Printing House in Vilnius.

The artists are expected to explore the phenomenon of genesis (Greek: origin, birth) through ethnological, acoustic, and sociological lenses. The listener is to witness the spatial potential of electric double bass (Spatial Study I for Electric Bass) by Manu Mayr from Austria, electroacoustic flute (by Serhii Vilka representing Ukraine), the audio-visual ritual of burning eagles, based on recent war experience (by Iryna Novikova, Ukraine/Sweden), and the ambisonic composition based on myths and sounds of nature by Fritiof Palm from Sweden.
