“And then, I reshaped the melody…”
This project focuses on the reworking of well-known classical pieces, such as Mozart’s Queen of the Night Aria, Bizet’s Habanera, Schubert’s Die Forelle, and Žvaigždutė (Little Star) by Balys Dvarionas.
By revitalizing the music, the Edgy Palates Ensemble offers a contemporary sonic context and form for the classics. Alongside the expanded vocal techniques, the trio employs elements of heavy and dance music genres, as well as their tools of expression, including rhythm, timbre, and voice. The ensemble interprets the genres through its unique compositional methodology.
