Ability for the imposible
Ukrainian folk instruments dissolve into abstract psychoactive sounds from the improv isational universe. The meditative engine of multi-instrumental music drives the magical means that influence perception. This is the sonic amulet decorated with radiant tones and colourful ceremonial outline. Mythological music is spirited by epic historical times and ideas of freedom, dignity, and bravery. The acquired knowledge of past generations is infused into the present tense and crystallized into the art of liberation. Transform pain into gratitude, fear into love, rage into action, self-importance into empathy, fatigue into inner peace, anxiety into courage, and hatred into strength. Say “no” to darkness and illuminate it, disallow compromises with yourself, create on the ruins, free yourself from stipulations, believe in wonders, burn and resurrect free. Always remember your own path.
And plant the blossoming cherry tree into the bomb funnel on the heart.
Dedicated to the free Ukraine.

Zavoloka (UA)
Photo credits: KURØUkrainian-born and Berlin-based Kateryna Zavoloka, who goes by the stage name Zavo loka, is a prolific composer, sound artist, performer, and visual artist. She devotes herself to orchestrating uncompromising experimental music free from genre-dependent definitions and styles. Her pieces always stem from a very strong conceptual base, unveiling creations that cross the boundaries of music. They exhibit deep artistic research and combine traditional and synthesized elements to show the limitlessness of her creative freedom.
From performing tantalizing live audio-visual sets and partaking in cross-genre art projects to co-running Prostir, the experimental music label, and its sub-label dedicated to Ukrainian resistance, I Shall Sing Until My Land Is Free, Zavoloka is leaving an indelible imprint in the world of music and art. In addition to this, she co-managed with Dmytro Fedorenko (Kotra, Variát) the Kvitnu label until 2020 and played with him in the band called Cluster Lizard. Neither this is the end of the story, because she is also famous for her visual projects, cover artwork, and graphic design.
